Sam Rayburn Elementary strives to create confident, creative builders of the future. Our school focus is to educate with consistency and kindness while promoting self-responsibility. We work toward an integrated curriculum through engaging activities and technology that challenges students to meet their potential. Students are encouraged to create and sustain an atmosphere of cooperation with respect for individual differences and community values. Encompassed by an environment conducive to success, we hold our students to the highest standards of learning.
Sam Rayburn ISD originated in 1964 with the consolidation of North Fannin and Telephone Schools. The land the school sits on was donated by Mr. & Mrs. Sydney Steele. Currently, Sam Rayburn Elementary has approximately 270 students enrolled in Pre-Kindergarten through Sixth Grade.
Despite its rural location, our campus remains a leader of academic achievement in northeast Texas. We have been rated Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency for the past two years, as well as received the Gold Performance Acknowledgement in Math, Reading, Science, and Writing. Sam Rayburn ISD is equipped with a wonderful library full of new materials and resources that rivals those of larger districts. All students have access to the latest technology tools which include a Mac Lab, iPod touch cart, and computer centers in every classroom. Students attending Sam Rayburn ISD are served by a highly motivated faculty and administration that is dedicated to providing the highest quality of education available.
